8 minsThe name ‘Ersties’ comes from the term ‘Erstsemestler’ which means first-year student, like the term ‘fresher’ in the UK. When we started, we had a lot of students who wanted to work with us. It’s the first time you’re really able to explore your sexuality in the real world, so it represented the authentic, amateur kind of porn we wanted to create.
We’re all about women-centred pleasure both in front of and behind the camera. A lot of porn is geared towards fulfilling a male sexual fantasy, or even just a heteronormative model of sex. To include a truly feminine perspective on sexuality in porn, we need to be the ones making it.
We make porn about women that want to share their sexuality.
Ersties features intimate lesbian sex, sensual alone time and group sex. We drop monthly specials, usually inspired by a model’s fantasy; like Ana B’s trying a powerful fucking machine for the first time, or Queen Lucy dominating her male subjects. It’s not unlike any other film crew. You have producers, sound, lighting, DOPs, editing, and the performers themselves. Scripts are a bit boring in our opinion. We usually base an idea for a shoot off a model's fantasy and just provide the set, lots of lube & toys for their imagination and guide them through a performer chat so everyone can talk about their desires & no-nos.
We think it's a worthy reason to break a camera in the name of female ejaculation! But seriously, we're usually not filming millimetres away from people during the sex, it would be a little invasive and the shot would look quite strange. We're usually filming in the 'safe zone', so our cameras are okay!
We can't say that for the other performers, but usually, people are pretty happy to be squirted on! Plus that's what towels are for.

On set we’re busy capturing what’s going on, getting the framing right on a sexy close-up, and making sure everybody has what they need. You have to wear a different porn hat to work. That's not to say we don't think the sex looks great while filming, but we're more 'turned on' by getting the perfect shot and creating a cool shoot.
Also if we do get horny, we can go home and watch the videos later…just joking (mostly).

Once we're on set, it's a bit of magic, luck and planning that makes the shoot go to plan! A lot is out of our control, (like that time a sewer bust outside the filming location and everything smelt like poo...), so we do as much as we can to make the basics work. Like making the performers comfortable, feeding them and creating a safe space. The rest usually works out somehow!
Our Casting Director, Rosa, sniffs them out. She also has a fantastic sense for chemistry and what personalities will complement each other. Sometimes we connect with someone we meet at a club or party, sometimes we find each other on social media, and sometimes we find people through friends. It’s easiest in Berlin because we’re like a big family here, but we work with models from all over the world.
During the model application process, we already go into a lot of detail about interests and boundaries. We then talk in-depth about what we’re planning to do before a shoot, designing it around what models want, and then check in throughout the scene.
